In addition to the higher mortality rate of the COVID-19 pandemic among older adults, the virus is having a prolonged impact on seniors’ mental health. In this webinar we explore how social isolation, depression and related health problems are currently impacting older adults, as well as methods to manage isolation and reduce harmful side-effects.

Kelly Sparks has been a CWOCN for over 25 years, and a nurse for over 30. She has worked in wound, ostomy and continence care for most of her career. She has also been on the board of directors for the Pacific Coast Region several times in the past as well as being on multiple projects for the WOCN Certification Board. Kelly stays active with the local Sacramento WOC nurse group and serves as Secretary. Although she retired from Dignity Health, she has continued her passion with her private practice. Over the years, Kelly has been a speaker for many different conferences and classes, and enjoys speaking for Shield webinars and working with Capital Nursing Education to help promote education necessary for the care of patients.
